22-year old striker, William Saliba Has agreed with Arsenal for a four-year deal that would fetch him £190,000 to £200,000 a week.

The deal will keep the football star at Emirates Stadium until at least 2027. The new contract will now move on to the paperwork stage with both sides looking to get it signed.

Saliba’s existing terms were due to expire in 12 months, leaving Arsenal at risk of losing him for free next summer if they had not reached a new agreement.

Reports Saturday morning had it that Arsenal’s talks with William Saliba over a new contract were advancing, with a new round of negotiations set to take place within hours.

David Ornstein has since confirmed that Arsenal have reached an agreement with Saliba for a new four-year deal, lasting until 2027. It’s now just a case of dealing with the paperwork.

The Gunners activated Saliba’s contract option in December, extending his deal to 2024, but at the time they were reportedly not even close to an agreement on a longer-term contract.

Things appear to be moving in the right direction now.

Arsenal deals summer 2023 – Latest Arsenal injury updates and news

In an interview with Chris Davison this week, football insider Team News and Ticks answered questions about Saliba’s contract situation at Arsenal.

Based on that interview, sources at the club are not worried, and they believe Saliba will extend.

If Saliba signs a deal around the £190/200k mark, that will be a similar base wage to Saka’s. But Saka has various add-ons that could push his actual wages closer to £280k+, whilst Saliba reportedly wouldn’t have those same bonuses.

Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth and Kaya Kaynak of Football.London reported earlier this week that talks over a new Arsenal contract for Saliba were progressing positively, with willingness from all parties to strike a deal
