Wike sacks heads of FCT Water Board, Urban Mass, 19 others

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, Wednesday night, relieved the appointment of 21 heads of departments, agencies and companies owned by the FCT Administration..

The announcement, contained in a press statement by the Director of Press, Office of the Minister, Anthony Ogunleye, suggested that the GM of FCT Water Board, the MD/CEO of Abuja Urban Mass Transport Company, and the Group Managing Director and CEO, Abuja investment Company Ltd, were part of those affected by the shake up.

Others affected are, the CEO/MD, Abuja Markets Management Ltd, CEO/MD, Abuja Property Development Company, CEO/MD Abuja Technology Village Free Trade Zone Company, CEO/MD Abuja Film Village International, CEO/MD AICL Equipment Leasing Company Ltd, MD Abuja Broadcasting Corporation, and the MD, Abuja Enterprise Agency.

Also affected are DG, FCT Emergency Management Agency, Executive Secretary, FCT Primary Healthcare Board, Director General, Hospital Management Board, Director, Abuja Environmental Protection Board, Director, FCT Scholarship Board as well as the Director FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board.

The Director, Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board was also relieved of his role, alongside the Coordinator, Abuja Infrastructure Investment Center, Director, FCT Health Insurance Scheme, Coordinator, Satellite Towns Development Department and the Coordinator, Abuja Metropolitan Management Council.

Though no reason was given for their removal, the affected officials were asked to hand over the affairs of their offices to the most senior officers in rank, adding that appointments into the offices will be made in due course.

Wike, on assumption of office as the FCT Minister, had advised heads of departments and agencies to buckle up or be shown the way out.
