The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Prof. Suleiman Mohammed, has charged newly-matriculated students of the university to desist from unethical behavior or be shown the way out.

Suleiman gave the charge while addressing the students at the 20th Matriculation Ceremony of the university in Keffi on Thursday.

The university in a statement on its Facebook page, quoted the Vice-Chancellor as stressing that the institution will not condone acts of examination malpractice, cultism, indecent dressing, and any acts that may be injurious to students and put them in harm’s way.

While advising the students to embrace the fight against unethical behavior by calling the toll-free lines provided, he encouraged them to report any staff engaging in such acts for disciplinary action.

Suleiman also spoke about the combination of two streams of admission, stating that the university is well-positioned to accommodate the learning needs of students with the introduction of physical and virtual modes of teaching.

He reiterated the university’s efforts to resolve the accommodation problem being experienced by students as a result of the merged admissions of two academic sessions.

According to him, the state government is in the process of constructing a 4,000-bed capacity hostel in the University.

He further stated that management is working closely with security agents to get to the root causes of the security breaches that have become a thorn in the flesh of the students living off-campus.
