Unidentified man found dead in Gezawa village well

In Babawa village, Gezawa Local Government Area, Kano State, a man who was not named and was thought to be around 45 years old was discovered dead in a well on Tuesday afternoon.

The discovery was made following an emergency call to the Kano State Fire Service by ASP Kabiru Lawan of the Gezawa Police Division at approximately 12:59 p.m.

According to a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, a rescue team was promptly dispatched to the scene and arrived at 1:25 p.m.

“Upon arrival, our team found a man, approximately 45 years old, lying unconscious in the well. Efforts were made to retrieve him, but it was confirmed that he had passed away due to prolonged exposure,” Abdullahi stated.

Despite efforts by the rescue team and the presence of community leaders, the man’s identity remains unknown.

“The community leaders and residents confirmed they did not recognize him or know his origins,” Abdullahi added.

The deceased was subsequently handed over to ASP Kabiru Lawan for further investigation.
