Spokesperson of the Ogun Sector Command, Florence Okpe, confirmed the incident to DAILY POST in the late hours of Sunday, saying that the cause of […]</p> <p>The post <a href="https://thedailynewswave.com/four-killed-9-injured-in-lagos-ibadan-expressway-accident/">Four killed, 9 injured in Lagos-Ibadan expressway accident</a> appeared first on <a href="https://thedailynewswave.com">The DailyNewswave</a>.</p> ]]></description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: left;">Four people were declared dead in a single car accident on the Lagos-Ibara motorway on Sunday in the Alapako neighbourhood of Ogunmakin by the Federal Road Safety Corps, or FRSC.</p> <p>Spokesperson of the Ogun Sector Command, Florence Okpe, confirmed the incident to DAILY POST in the late hours of Sunday, saying that the cause of the crash was speed violation and tyre burst, which led to loss of control.</p> <p>Okpe noted that the crash involved a white Toyota Hiace bus with registration number FKJ570YE, which had 13 passengers on transit.</p> <p>She revealed that while four persons were confirmed dead, nine others sustained varying degrees of injuries.</p> <p>“FRSC operatives of RS2.29 Ogunmakin Unit Command carried out a rescue operation on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway around Alapako.</p> <p>“The crash involved a White Toyota Hiace Bus with registration number FKJ570YE</p> <p>“The bus had a total of 13 passengers on transit, 5 male adults and 8 female adults. 4 persons were recorded dead, 2 male adults and 2 female adults. Tsukwam, in a statement, attributed the crash to excessive speeding and wrongful […]</p> <p>The post <a href="https://thedailynewswave.com/tanker-bus-collide-on-lapai-bida-road-kill-14-injure-six-in-niger/">Tanker, bus collide on Lapai-Bida road, kill 14, injure six in Niger</a> appeared first on <a href="https://thedailynewswave.com">The DailyNewswave</a>.</p> ]]></description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On the Lapai-Agaie-Bida Federal Highway in Niger State, a tanker struck a bus, resulting in at least 14 passengers believed killed and six injured.</p> <p>The incident was confirmed by Kumar Tsukwam, the State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, or FRSC.</p> <p>Tsukwam, in a statement, attributed the crash to excessive speeding and wrongful overtaking.</p> <p>He said the accident, which occurred at 10:59 am on Saturday, February 22, 2025, between Kusobogi and Nami, involved a Toyota Hiace bus travelling from Minna to Agaie and a DAF tanker heading from Lagos to Kaduna.</p> <p>According to the FRSC report, the driver of the Toyota Hiace bus, in an attempt to overtake another vehicle at high speed, collided head-on with the oncoming tanker.</p> <p>The impact was fatal, resulting in the immediate deaths of 14 passengers, including five females, one male child, and eight males.
