Angry Nigerian football fans have descended on the multi billion Naira MKO Abiola stadium Abuja, destroying many facilities in the stadium.
The fans took the spontaneous action immediately the march ended 1-1 draw, which saw the nation’s senior team, the Super Eagles crashing out of the 2022 world cup slated for Qatar.
Analyts say the action was an expression of disappointment by the fans who came out in their hundreds to cheer the national team.
Many of the fans were seen destroying facilities as security personnel tried to control the crowd.
The federal government, through the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation had declared Tuesday, a half work day to enable civil servants watch the match to give the Eagles moral support.
