NPFL: ‘I’m returning to familiar terrain’ – Eguma speaks on Enyimba appointment

Stanley Eguma, the recently hired head coach of Enyimba, has stated that he is going back to “familiar territory.”

Eguma was confirmed as the new helmsman of the People’s Elephant following the sacking of erstwhile handler of the team, Yemi Olanrewaju on Saturday.

The 62-year-old once worked as an assistant coach at Enyimba.

The tactician later won multiple titles with Dolphins (now Rivers United).

“Don’t forget I’ve been here before, back in 2004, when we won the CAF Champions League title,” he said after his unveiling.

“So I can conveniently say that I’m returning to familiar terrain.”

Eguma will take charge of his first game when Enyimba hosts Bendel Insurance in Aba next week Tuesday.

The Aba giants are winless in their last nine games across all competitions.
