Nasarawa senator-elect donates N1m to Catholic Church

The senator-elect, representing Nasarawa South Senatorial District, Mohammed Onawo, has donated the sum of N1 million to the Catholic Church in Doma area of the state for its construction work.

Onawo, who made the donation during the thanksgiving service of a retired Customs Comptroller, Joseph Attah, expressed concern over the recent politics of religion gradually gaining inroads into the country.

While pledging to remain committed to all and sundry in spite of religious differences, he noted that the people of Doma Local Government area of Nasarawa State must live as brothers and sisters despite their different religious persuasions.

“Any time you are embarking on the development of this church, I mean Catholic church, please let me know so that I can contribute my quota to the church”

The senator-elect said he belongs to the state which comprises of people from the five Local Governments of Nasarawa South, which includes Awe, Lafia, Doma, Obi, and Keana.
Onawo described Attah as a gem who has impacted positively on the lives of the younger generation through the employment of graduates into the Nigeria Customs Service, even as he called on the retired officer to join politics.

On his part, the retired Customs Comptroller, Attah, said he has impacted positively on the lives of the youth in the area of job creation, while expressing gratitude to dignitaries who came from many parts of the country to grace the occasion.
