Late Kogi State Governor, Abubakar Audu’s son, Mr Mona Mustapha Audu, has thrown his hat on the ring to contest for the state’s governorship election in November 2023.

Audu, who obtained his Governorship Intent Form at the All Progressives Congress, APC, secretariat on Wednesday in Abuja, said will have a blueprint for youth women and persons with disabilities in the state when he wins the November 2023 polls.

The aspirant further noted that youth, women, and people with disabilities will be entrusted with key positions in his government if he wins the election.

On whether he doesn’t need the support of the incumbent governor, Yahaya Bello, to win the polls, he said he hasn’t been opportuned to meet him yet.

“But I intend to see him at some point. And very soon I’ll carry the same message. I need him. This is a journey that I cannot do on my own. And I cannot do a lot. I need all the leaders to be able to make it a success.

“So we’re going to focus on turning around the iron ore company so that we can attract industries that will be able to do that. Now in terms of power shift. Every senatorial district and every senatorial zone in Kogi is very important. We don’t take anything for granted.”

“Thirdly, very important infrastructure development within my first 100 days of being elected Governor of Kogi. State, I will set up a $1 billion infrastructure for I will set up a $1 billion infrastructure fund to be able to fundamentally build on the decayed infrastructure situation in Kogi state.

“We will continue to work hard to deliver the mandate of our leader,
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his vice presidential candidate Kashim Shettima at the February 2023 election to express our support for his mandate.

“We’re here to express our support for I believe that you can turn around the economy of Nigeria fundamentally and you’ll be able to carry on the baton of the work of President Muhammadu Buhari,” he said.
