Marc-Andre ter Stegen, the goalie for Barcelona, has explained why he hasn’t yet asked his younger teammate Lamine Yamal for his shirt.

The German custodian was on the bench as the Yamal tore Borussia Dortmund apart in the Champions League quarterfinals first leg on Wednesday.

Barcelona beat the German side 4-0, thanks to goals from Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Yamal.

Yamal, 17, was also involved in Lewandowsky’s two goals.

The youngster has registered 14 goals and 21 assists from 43 games across competitions.

Speaking after the game, Ter Stegen was asked if he had asked for the teenager’s shirt yet to hang on his wall.

The Germany international replied, according to Barca Universal, that he is waiting to swap shirts with the youngster while on international duty.

He said, “Actually? Not yet. I don’t. Maybe later, when we play each other in the national team.

“I usually keep the shirts after national team matches. I wish him the best.”

Yamal won Euro 2024 with Spain in the summer and was also adjudged the Best Young Player of the Tournament.
