Ilkay Gundogan, a midfielder for Barcelona, is said to have requested to leave the massive La Liga team in Spain during the summer transfer window.
The German just moved from Manchester City to the Blaugrana last summer.
According to Sport, Gundogan has now handed in a transfer request.
Barcelona chiefs are also said to be open to selling the 33-year-old in a bid to ease their financial issues this term.
Gundogan missed Barcelona’s opening day LaLiga 2-1 win at Valencia.
When asked about Gundogan, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick told reporters after his team defeated Valencia: “I have talked to him a lot, but it is something between me and him.
“We have a good relationship. I know him well. I have the feeling that he will stay.”
