Kogi United, a national League One club, has named Gilbert Opana as its new technical adviser.
Opana was unveiled at a brief ceremony at the Kogi State Government House in Lokoja.
The chairman of the state-owned team, Abdulmalik Isah, said the new coach was appointed based on his experience and track records with different clubs in the Nigerian football ecosystem.
The young tactician was a former Jigawa Golden Stars player and coach.
He will be assisted by coaches Mohammed Yusuf, Abdulazeez Adeiza, and Taiye Ojo.
Kogi United, which narrowly missed out on promotion last season, will begin the quest for a return to the Nigeria National League, (NNL) in April 2025.
