FG restricts movement within Abuja for Tinubu’s inauguration

The federal government has put in place, measures to restrict and control movement of persons and vehicles in some areas within the Abuja city centre for the inauguration of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as President of Nigeria.

The inauguration is scheduled to take place on Monday, May 29, 2023 at the Eagle Square.

The restriction would last for four days and is to take effect from 2pm on Friday May 26 to Monday, May 29, 2023.

The areas affected by the restriction include phases 1, 2 and 3 of the Federal Secretariat complex, the Tafawa Balewa House (Ministry for Foreign Affairs) and roads leading to the mentioned areas. They are to be cordoned off as officers and visitors would not be allowed access.

A circular containing the restriction order was cited by Nationwide Reports on Sunday and is intended to be sent out to ministries, departments and agencies tomorrow (Monday).

The circular was signed by Dr. Ngozi Onwudiwe, Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare office on behalf of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation and was copied to the Chairman, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Secretary, National Judicial Council, Auditor General of the Federation, Accountant General of the Federation, Surveyor General of the Federation; and Directors General/Chief Executive Officers of Parastatals and Agencies.
