FCT minister mourns passing of press secretary’s father

FCT minister, Muhammad Bello, has commiserated with the family of his Chief Press Secretary, over the passing of their father, Pa Lawrence Ogunleye, who died in the early hours of Monday.

Bello, while on a condolence visit to the home of the late nonagenarian, advised the family, especially his CPS, Mr. Anthony Ogunleye, to be strong and take solace in the fact that his father lived a fulfilled life worthy of emulation.

The minister, who was accompanied by some members of the FCT Executive Committee, FCT-EXCO, said death is a necessary end and a path every mortal must follow.

He described the late Ogunleye who passed at the age of 90, as a man of honour, whose footprint could be felt in the behaviour and conduct of his son.

He said the entire FCT Administration received the sad news of the death of the CPS father as a rude shock, saying that his counsel was still needed to guide his son and indeed, the entire family.

The minister prayed to God to grant the deceased eternal rest and the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.

Responding on behalf of the family, Mr. Anthony Ogunleye thanked the minister for the visit and expressed the appreciation of the family to the entire FCT Administration, especially the EXCO for the prompt condolence visit.

The Chief Press Secretary noted that the minister’s condolence will forever be cherished by the family.

He described his late father as an outstanding teacher and educationist, who worked diligently and retired from service as a Deputy Director, Education.

Before his death, Pa. Ogunleye, while in service, worked in several states including Kaduna, Jos, Maiduguri among others.
