The Director/Vice Principal, Administration, Nawair-Ud-Deen Senior High School, Ebute-Metta, Lagos, Mrs Tolulope Kuponiyi, has advised teachers to be committed and give in their best while in service.
Kuponiyi gave the advice on Wednesday at an event held at the school to mark her statutory retirement from public service after 32 years and attaining age 60.
According to Kuponiyi, the fulfillment of teachers who are passionate about the profession cannot be overemphasised.
“The joy you get in making the high and mighty in the the society as a teacher is remarkable.
“I am satisfied and happy that I gave my best during my service year through which I was able to contribute to the academic knowledge of students that passed through me,” she said.
She also thanked the Lagos State Government and Ministry of Education for giving her the opportunity to contribute her quota in the sector.
“I enjoyed my profession and I am happy to serve in Lagos State,”
Recalled that Kuponiyi worked in different schools in Lagos State including St Francis Grammar School, Iwaya; Jibowu Junior High School, Yaba; and Gbaja Senior Grammar School, Surulere.
Also, Mobolaji Bank Anthony Junior High School, as Vice Principal and finally Nawair-Ud-Deen Senior High School, Ebute-Metta, where she served last and retired as a director on level 17.
Mrs Ikeade Salami, Principal/Director of Nawair-Ud-Deen Senior High School, while congratulating kuponiyi, described her as a dedicated, hardworking, peace-loving, prayerful and friendly woman.
Salami said Kuponiyi was always punctual and early to school in spite coming from a far distance.
“She lived an exemplary life and ended her service strong and well.
“No record of negative behaviour of her, she has been an upright woman with distinct input in the profession, always ready and goes the extra mile to assist both students. We are really going to miss her.
“However, on behalf of members of staff and students, we wish her happy retirement, good health, peace and success in her new and next phase of life as she joins the senior citizens,” Salami said.
