Disaster averted as Max Air plane crashlands in Abuja

What would have been a national disaster was averted Sunday evening, May 7, 2023 as an air plane belonging to Max Air crash-landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja.

According to a short video watched by Nationwide Reports on YouTube, a man, identified as Dr. Mike Ogirima, former president, Nigeria Medical Association, NMA, who was a passenger in the plane, said he had noticed few minutes after take off from Yola in Adamawa state that one of the front tyres of the plane flew out.

He said the second front tyre also detached from the plane before it reached Abuja.

While passengers were heard panicking with some praying, the voice of one air hostess was loud, calming passengers down.

The live video also captured how the fire was attacked and put out by a team of the Aerodrome Rescue and Fire Fighting Service, ARFFS at the airport.

All passengers on the plane were safe, according to the short video
