The impact of security companies like Bemil Nigeria on Nigerian youth goes beyond just providing security services. These companies also play a critical role in providing employment opportunities for young Nigerians, who make up a significant portion of the country’s population.

Bemil Nigeria is one of the leading security companies in Nigeria, providing a range of security services to both public and private sector clients. With over 45 years of experience, the company has a reputation for providing high-quality, professional security services to its clients.

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, Nigeria’s youth unemployment rate was at an all-time high of 42.5% in Q2 2020. This means that almost half of Nigeria’s young population is currently unemployed, a situation that poses a significant challenge to the country’s economic development and social stability, coupled with the 2023 Nigerian elections uncertainty in Nigeria is at an all time high.

One of the ways in which security companies like Bemil Nigeria addresses these challenges is by providing employment opportunities for young people. The security industry is one of the few industries in Nigeria that has continued to grow in recent years, despite the country’s challenging economic environment. This growth has created numerous job opportunities for young Nigerians, especially in areas like security guard services, security consulting, and security technology.

From available records, over 5,000 young men and women are currently on the Bemil’s payroll, thereby contributing immensely to solving Nigeria’s unemployment challenges.

However, while employment opportunities in the security industry are abundant, it is essential to note that not all jobs in the industry are suitable for young people without adequate training, fitness and preparation.

For example, some security jobs require physical fitness, strength and mental agility while others demand specialized skills and training, such as security consulting and security technology, which may require a higher level of education.

According to the Chief Operating Officer of Bemil Security, Mr. Jide Martins, investing In Nigerian youth is an essential seed to securing the country’s Future.

As part of our social corporate responsibilities, we partnered with Feed Nigeria, a grassroots initiative that was derived from the Nigerian Fencing Federation. Fencing is a defense and combat sport, which incorporates swordsmanship. Adopted into all modern defense training including Navy, seal, national security.

Bemil is an instrumental partner with the federation and aligns with the mission of FEED (Fund Educate Empower Develop) Nigeria to empower underprivileged children through sports and education.

The foundation offers sports’ training that creates values such as hard work, discipline and physical fitness. It also provides sports scholarships, sponsorship, educational resources, academic materials, mentorship, and welfare.

In the words of the CEO, Mr. Martins- “This is where education and training come in.”

To prepare young Nigerians for careers in the security industry, it is essential to provide them with the necessary education and training. This can be done through platforms like FEED Nigeria, vocational training centers, technical schools, and universities.

In conclusion, the impact of security companies like Bemil Nigeria on Nigerian youth goes beyond just providing security services. This company also plays a crucial role in providing employment opportunities for young people.

However, to prepare young people for careers in the security industry, it is essential to provide them with the necessary education and training. By doing so, we can help reduce youth unemployment in Nigeria and create a more prosperous and stable society.
