The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, has reiterated his position that the present National Working Committee, NWC, of the party will keep carrying women along in its decisions.
Ayu reiterated this when a delegation of a women group within the party, PDP Founding Mothers, PDP-FM, paid him a courtesy visit at the party’s national secretariat, Abuja.
According to him: “I want to thank you for your resilience, for staying faithful to the party. We will work with. We have a tradition of carrying women along in our decisions. And we will continue with it.”
“You are critical to our success. We need you to rebuild the party and return to power. Already, we are back to our winning ways as the recent elections have shown. But we need push forward as a team,” he added.
He thanked the women for remaining faithful to the party despite its electoral loss in 2015, and urged them to mobilize women to vote for PDP candidates in the 2023 general elections.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation and former Woman Leader of the party, Mrs. Josephine Anenih, said they were at the PDP national secretariat to congratulate the new NWC, and pledge their unalloyed support.
The former minister of Women Affairs charged the Ayu-led not to relegate women to the background in the scheme of things.
