Anambra govt sets up committee to probe Mmesoma, JAMB face-off

Anambra state government has set up an 8-man committee made up of professors, the clergy and others to probe the raging faceoff between Mmesoma Ejikeme, a candidate who sat for the 2023 UTME but was accused of forging a result to alter her score from 246 to 362.

The alleged forged result had attracted national acclaim with INNOSON Motors CEO gifting her N3m scholarship.

However, things turned bad for Mmesoma who hails from Anambra when the state’s commissioner for education sent her result to JAMB for confirmation preparatory to the state’s reward for her ‘outstanding performance.’

JAMB had replied that she scored 246 marks and not 362 adding that he falsified the result because there was nothing like that on their portal.

While setting up the committee, the State government faulted way JAMB has handled the development.

In a statement issued by the state Commissioner for Information, Sir Paul Nwosu, on Wednesday, the government said that following the development, an eight-member committee of enquiry has been set up to thoroughly investigate the JAMB/Mmesoma matter and the findings of the Committee will be made public.

According to him, the committee members include, Prof. Nkemdili Nnonyelu as Chairman, Prof. Mercy Okonkwo, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, Prof. Maduabuchi Dukor, Prof. Jaja Nwanegbo, Rev. Sr. Prof. Mary-Felicia Opara, Rev. Cannon Dr. Uchenna Umeifekwem, Mr. Chukwuemeka and Fred Agbata Managing Director, Anambra Information Communication Technology Agency
