The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, UNICAL, has been admonished by AIG Mustapha Muhammed Bala, the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone Six Headquarters, Calabar, to always be proactive with security complaints.

He gave the advice when the Vice Chancellor and her Chief Security Officer paid the AIG a courtesy call in his office on Tuesday.

“The Commissioner of Police in the Cross River State Command and the Zone Six command are committed to providing adequate security to beef up the security architecture in the University,” the AIG assured.

In a statement signed by acting PRO of Zone Six, ASP Edim Obazi, the Vice Chancellor expressed happiness over the warm welcome by the AIG, saying the visit had given her the opportunity to have security interaction with the police boss.

“I will not make light of any intelligence report at my disposal.

“Security measures have been put in place to address any security issues with a view to bringing lasting peace in the university environment,” she said.
