On Thursday, January 26, 2023, Nigeria’s most sought-after Constitutional Lawyer and leading Human Rights Activist, Prof Mike Ozekhome delivered the 29th Convocation Lectures of the Abia State University, Uturu.
Titled “Public Universities: The Politics, Challenges and Prospects,” the 88-page Lecture, delivered by the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and renowned scholar, was both earth-shaking and inspiring.
After the Lecture, Ozekhome was the following day, January 27, 2023, conferred with the LL.D doctorate Degree (Honoris Causa) by the same University. He was decorated alongside other distinguished Nigerians who have made their mark in different spheres of human endeavour.
Among the award recipients are Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, one of Africa’s richest women and philanthropist, Mrs. Folurunsho Alakija, Chief Reginald Stanley and Chief Aigboji Aig-Imoukhuade.
With the latest award, High Chief Mike Ozekhome has received 13 doctorate degrees (one by academic thesis), conferred on him by different universities across Nigeria and the world, making him the highest Doctorates Degree holder in Africa.
