First lady, Aisha Buhari condoles Kano over Hanifah, commends Ganduje, wife

The First Lady and wife of President Muhammadu Buhari have condoled the government and people of Kano state over the gruesome murder of Hanifah Abubakar Abba and the death of a renowned Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Ahmad Muhammad Ibrahim (Bamba).

Aisha Buhari expressed her heartfelt sympathy over the two incidents on arrival in Kano Wednesday.

She also expressed appreciation to Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and his wife Prof. Hafsat Abdullahi Ganduje for the warm reception accorded her on arrival at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, MAKIA.

The above was contained in a statement Thursday, by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mallam Abba Anwar, and made available to The Daily Newswave.

“At a media briefing at Government House, the First Lady, showed her appreciation to the governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and his wife, Prof. Hafsat Abdullahi Ganduje, for good reception at the Airport down to Government House,” the statement said.

Continuing, it quoted Aisha Buhari to have said- “We are grateful for the warm reception accorded us from the Airport to Government House.”

Appreciating further that, “We are grateful to the governor, his wife, and all those who accepted us at the Airport.”

“Governor Ganduje received her at MAKIA along with his wife Mrs Ganduje and many top government functionaries, as Koroso dancers entertained the First Lady of Nigeria, Mrs Buhari.

“Large crowds were by the roadsides from the Airport to Government House welcoming Her Excellency from Abuja, with cheerful faces, Nigerian flags, and party songs praising President Buhari and the ruling party, All Progressives Congress, APC.

“Immediately she arrived Government House, the first thing she did was press briefing. Where she stated her purpose for being in the state, a private visit and paying condolence to the state government, Kano Emir, Aminu Ado Bayero and the families of the deceased,” the statement concluded.
