Bashir Tofa, Former MKO Abiola Opponent on June 12 Election Buried in Kano

The remains of Bashir Othman Tofa have been buried in Kano a few hours after his demise today, Monday, January 3, 2022.

The burial was preceded by a funeral prayer at his private residence in the ancient city.

The prayer session was led by Imam Shehu Tijjani Yan Mota at exactly 9.20 am.

The funeral prayer held at his residence at Gandun Albasa was attended by the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, Kano Central Senator, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, former Minister of Agriculture, Alhaji Sabo Nanono, Alhaji Sule Yahya Hamma

Others include Alhaji Aminu Dabo, Alhaji Sani Kwangila Yakasai and Barr. A.B Mahmud, among others.

Alhaji Bashir Othman Tofa was born in June 1947, was also the Chairman of the Kano Elders Forum.

He was the candidate of the National Republican Convention, NRC, on June 12, 1993, presidential election presumed to have been won by Chief MKO Abiola which was however annulled by military president Ibrahim Babangida
