Contentious After Arsenal’s loss to Manchester United in the FA Cup third round on Sunday, British journalist Piers Morgan has blasted the team.
Morgan branded Arsenal as ‘pathetic’, adding that the Gunners have no chance of winning a trophy this season with Kai Havertz as their main striker.
Arsenal were defeated 5-3 through penalty shootout after Manchester United converted all their spot kicks.
The encounter had ended 1-1 after 120 minutes at the Emirates Stadium.
Bruno Fernandes and Gabriel scored the goals for both teams during normal time.
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard missed a penalty during the 90 minutes, while Diogo Dalot was sent off for a second yellow.
Reacting, Morgan, a die-hard Arsenal fan, wrote on X: “Pathetic, Arsenal. How can you lose at home to a team that has 10 men for that long?
“So long as Havertz is our main striker, we have zero chance of winning any big trophies.
“He was awful today. If Arteta doesn’t buy big this window, including a top striker, our season is over.”
