Ahead of their match against the Niger Tornadoes on matchday 16 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Abia Warriors skipper Augustine Njoku has called for the support of the supporters.
The Umu Chineke have recorded one win from their last five league outings.
Imama Amapakabo’s side currently occupy 14th position on the log with 18 points.
Njoku said it is important for the fans to support the team at this difficult period of the campaign.
“My message to Abia Warriors fans is just to, first of all plead with them because of the level of inconsistency in the team now,” he told the club’s media.
“Talking about getting results, I’m pleading with the fans to still give us a little time because, the team as I used to say is a work-in-progress.
“So, I believe going forward, the four games remaining in the first round, they are going to see a new Abia Warriors.”
