According to the Ogun State police command, the kidnapping that took place along the Sagamu, Ijebu Ode expressway claimed the lives of three Indian nationals.
DAILY POST had reported that gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Sunday abducted travellers around Sagamu Area Command of the Nigeria Police and Ilisan township.
It was gathered that an unknown driver in a grey Toyota Rav 4, AGL16JE Lagos, was trailed to a bad portion of the road, and the abducted travellers were taken in an unregistered Venza Jeep.
According to reports, one of the victims shot in the knee managed to escape and is responding to treatment at the Babcock University Teaching Hospital, Ilisan.
During the incident, the kidnappers also shot at the driver of a black Toyota Camry car with number plate, Lagos AAA-04-JB, inflicting injury on his left leg as he attempted a U-turn.
DAILY POST gathered that the windscreen of a bus driver who was heading to Lagos from Abuja was broken and his cell phone taken after informing him that he wasn’t their target.
Giving an update on the incident, the PPRO, Omolola Odutola, on Tuesday, disclosed that three Indian nationals were the victims of the incident.
She said “investigations by the anti-kidnapping Unit of Ogun State Police Command further reveals that three Indian nationals were the victims of a kidnap incident that occurred at Delabo Junction.”
