The new National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, has appointed a veteran journalists and former National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Mallam Muhammad Garba as Chief of Staff.
Nationwide Reports gathered that Ganduje, the immediate past Governor of Kano State appointed Garba his Chief of Staff on Monday, August 7, 2023 and the appointment is with immediate effect.
The new Chief of Staff was said to have resumed duties on Monday.
Muhammad Garba served as Commissioner for Information in Kano State, under the administration of Ganduje for eight years.
Although a seasoned journalist, Muhammad Garba has vast experiences in politics, administration, humanities and other areas of human endeavors.
Muhammad Garba served as Chairman of NUJ, Kano state chapter for two terms and was elected as National Vice President (North West) of the Union and later emerged as National President of NUJ, serving two terms.
A calm and always smiling human management expert and quintessential loyalist, Muhammad Garba also served as Chief Press Secretary to a Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives as well as Chief Press Secretary to Dr. Ganduje when he was Deputy Governor of Kano State.
