2024 Guber: Why Defecting To APC Is The Best Bet For Edo Deputy Governor

0

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shuaibu wants to be the next governor. He is from Edo North District. Edo North has had its fair share of that seat (Oshiomhole is from there). But Obaseki during his campaign promised the people of Edo Central the seat and deservedly too.

So Obaseki might returns to the APC, if he did Shaibu will too. Although, there is some issue between him and Edo APC vice-chairman that is away from public eyes. Incidentally, they both are from Edo North. That issue might not allow Shaibu to return. But the best bet for him is to return to the All Progressives Congress party, PDP is too much for him to get the governorship ticket.

So Edo Deputy Governor is heading back to the APC. He has said he loves his boss but hates the PDP. Edo has no commissioners today because Gov Obaseki doesn’t want to give the Ceasars in PDP what is Ceasars’. Since he jumped ship and jumped into the ship of tax collectors, he hasn’t been able to breathe well. Shuaibu and his boss are not party men. They will not bring cohesion to any party.

They couldn’t cope with Oshiomhole who fathered them and asked for no money. They couldn’t cope with the PDP whom they paid billions for a refuge from a storm. Obaseki was programmed to return to the APC. That was why the powers in the party worked for his victory. A faction of the APC installed Obaseki with 2023 in mind. Now the APC is close to setting sail for 2023. That faction wants Obaseki back now to have a hold on the party structures in the APC

So Shuaibu has been sent out to check if the waters have receded and to begin occupying. The PDP knew obaseki was as slippery as an eel. That was why they gave him such a long marriage list and asked for an arm in dowry. A reason the defection of Shuaibu to the APC is the best bet.
