Former Akwa Ibom state governor, Godswill Akpabio has emerged as president of the senate.
Akpabio defeated former Zamfara State governor, Senator Abdul’aziz Yari to emerge the President of the 10th Senate on Tuesday.
He was returned elected after scoring 63 votes while Yari got 46 votes.
Akpabio was subsequently sworn in as the President of the Senate for the 10th National Assembly, succeeding Senator Ahmad Lawan, who is also a member of the 10th Senate.
