Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the President of Nigeria, gas again solicited the support of newly elected and serving federal lawmakers for the choice of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC on the leadership of the 10th Assembly.

At a meeting with the lawmakers in Abuja, Tinubu said that the Renewed Hope Elephant is big enough for everyone to share and told senators-elect to toe the lines of the party’s zoning arrangement.

The APC had zoned the president of the Senate to the South–South, with Senator Godswill Akpabio as the preferred candidate, and Senator Jubrin Barau from North-West for deputy Senate President, a development that did not go down well with some aspirants and their loyalists.

Senators Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara West), Orji Kalu ( Abia North) and Osita Izunaso ( Imo West), among others are insisting they would not step down for Akoabio and have continued their consultations to seek support for their aspirations
