A University of Maiduguri student whose name was not made public, on Friday arrived the campus for lectures on a donkey.

The was said to have explained that his action was prompted by the hike in the price of patrol which has led to astronomical increase in transportation fare.

A Twitter user shared the picture of the student on the donkey with the caption, “Student of University of Maiduguri storms campus on his Donkey due to hike in fuel price.”

Nigerians are currently agonising over the sudden pronouncement by the new President, Bola Tinubu that subsidy on petrol has been removed which triggered panic buying at the stations.

However, the situation has been made worse by the adjustment of pump price at filling stations from N190 to N550 per liter.
