7,000 vulnerable groups to benefit from FG cash grant, GEEP loans in Imo, Abia

More than 7,000 people are to benefit from federal government’s Grant for Vulnerable Groups, GVG, and Government Enterprise Empowerment Programme, GEEP in Imo and Abia states.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, kicked off the programmes on Saturday in Imo State alongside the Digitized Payment for Conditional Cash Transfer.

In a statement issued by the Minister’s Special Adviser on Media, Nneka Anibeze, the minister said, “At least 3,894 beneficiaries across the 27 local government areas of the state will receive a twenty thousand Naira one-off Cash Grant for Vulnerable Groups in Imo state, while about 4,738 beneficiaries were selected for the Government Enterprise Empowerment Programme interest free loans.”
