The Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, Christopher Maikalangu, has appealed to all district heads of communities within the area council to cooperate with relevant law enforcement agencies and all arms of government to ensure a peaceful election.
Maikalangu, who made the call during an emergency meeting with all traditional rulers in all communities in AMAC, also urged them to avoid any activity capable of tarnishing their images or resulting in legal implications.
A statement by the Senior Special Assistant, Media and Public Affairs to AMAC Chairman, Mr Kingsley Madaki, also quoted the chairman as appealing to the traditional rulers to advise youths to conduct themselves peacefully
The chairman noted that the development of any community depends on the peaceful state of the community, urging the traditional rulers to ensure that peace reigns in their various communities at all times so that development can thrive in the council.
Also speaking, the District Head of Jikwoyi, Nicodemus Machin, who commended the chairman for his cordial interaction with the traditional rulers, noted that it is a sign of good leadership and will foster a good relationship between the communities and the council.
On his part, the District Head of the Gui community, Alhassan Idris, promised that efforts would be made to ensure that all communities are given maximum support for a peaceful 2023 general election.
