The Police in Katsina have arrested 20-year old man, Jume Bello, for allegedly raping his master’s wife and two others at Jikamshi village, Musawa Local Government area.
Parading the rapist alongside other criminals before newsmen on Thursday, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Gambo Isah, said the suspect, after having unlawful carnal knowledge of the victims, also robbed them of their money and other belongings.
According to the PPRO, “on May 31, 2022, at about 0900hrs, the victims between ages 18 and 25, all of Jikamshi village, reported at Musawa Police Division that on different dates and time one Jume Bello aged 20 years of the same address, criminally trespassed into their houses attacked them with knife and robbed them of their money, handset and forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of the victims.
FMB in an interview with the suspect, narrated that, “that day my master sent me on an errand to call water vendor for his wife and after that, in the evening I came back and committed the act.
“I also collected her money. Yes, the other ones too, I did it. I used knife to scare them. I took one of them to the backyard while others at their matrimonial bed.”
In a related development, the police also arrested a suspected member of a vigilance group for armed robbery.
Isah said, “on May 24, 2022, at about 1130hrs, the command succeeded in arresting one Usaman Haruna aged 23 years old of Ruwan Godiya village who is a suspected notorious armed robber.
“In the course of investigation, it was revealed that the suspect conspired with three other suspects, Nasiru Ali, Adamu, and Saadu all of Rowan Godiya village now at large, attacked and abducted one Ibrahim, a motorcycle rider at Nasarawa State.
“They inflicted serious injuries on him which resulted in his death and took away his motorcycle to Ruwan Godiya village where the suspect was arrested and the motorcycle recovered.”
